In its first year of broadcasting, Building the Future made the iTunes New and Noteworthy front page as number 6 out of 20 in the podcast category within six weeks of airing. The show has been heard in over 150 countries across the globe.

The radio show airs every Tuesday and Thursday at 2pm ET on WDJY 99.1 in Atlanta, Wednesday at 8am ET in Fairfax Virginia/DC on Channel 32 & 36, and daily on the Los Angeles podcasting network The 405 Media. A television version also airs on Tuesdays at 8pm PT on KMVT 15 in Silicon Valley.

Kevin Horek is a Chief Design Officer (CDO). He is a published author and is best known for his work published by Packt Publishing on Zurb's responsive framework, Foundation 5. Kevin studied web development and design at universities across North America, including UCLA and the University of Alberta. He started this show to get over his fear of public speaking and has continued to push himself out of his comfort zone by guest blogging for AlphaGamma, TechZulu, SOCAP and he recently emceed SUP-X: The Start-Up Expo as well had a fireside chat live on stage with the keynote speaker.

For over 20 years, Kevin has been working on web and mobile apps for some of the world’s most notable and well-respected organizations. Among them are BMW, Best Buy, Apple, Adobe, Sprint, Eastlink, TD Canada Trust, Qantas Airlines, Emirates Airlines, CB Richard Ellis, Microsoft, California Institute of Technology (Caltech), Singapore University of Technology and Design, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Monsanto, Cargill, Sage Therapeutics, Goshen Health, Pepsi, The United States Defense Threat Reduction Agency, The Annie E. His design and development projects have won critical acclaim and have been featured by media outlets like Hit Parader magazine. He is also a regular contributor to the open source community on FOLIO and he co-hosts a monthly beer meetup in his hometown of Edmonton called Nerds Night Out.
